With Annie's help I was able to land a great new look
and a promotion! My career path in investment
management was heading toward extensive client interaction, so
I felt it was important for me to adopt a more sophisticated
style. While I'd always considered myself a good dresser,
I lacked the knowledge necessary to get my wardrobe to the next
level. Annie was able to teach me about color, fit and
fabric, and how a few key pieces can really make the difference.

Audrey Hepburn, when asked why she preferred the clothes
of Givenchy, said that when she put on his clothes, she felt
confident to go anywhere. That was the surprise result
of putting myself in Annie's hands: I, too, felt confident. Annie
has been helping me develop a personal style for more than a
decade. Together, she and I have built a wardrobe that
is functional, hassle-free, and makes me feel good. I know
I look just fine wherever I go. That's no small feat for
a New York neurotic. And I’m amazed how much I’ve
enjoyed the process.

I'm size 12, curvy and short-waisted. I've tried on a
lot of clothes that looked awful on me, and bought a lot of pieces
that didn't flatter me. I reached a point where I'd actually stopped
shopping and was wearing the same two outfits over and over. Annie
gently but firmly helped me edit out everything in my closet that
didn't work (which was practically everything). Then she shopped
for me, and magically chose pieces that fit brilliantly and looked
amazing. She understood my style better than I did, and, more important,
had a deep knowledge of the available merchandise. With
Annie, I had fun shopping for the first time in my life and wound
up with a wardrobe of beautiful, well-made clothes that can be
mixed and matched in endless ways. She's an absolute joy to work
with. And yes, she changed my life.

My experience working with Annie Brumbaugh has changed the way
I view my wardrobe and my decisions about what to wear every day. Now
when I look in my closet, instead of being overwhelmed by all the
clothes I never wore, I see a variety of fun and creative options. I
feel confident that I have a look for every day, every event and
my every mood. After my fall shopping trip with Annie, my husband
(my most important critic) commented, "These things
you bought in NY are the best fitting clothes you've ever worn. I
don't care what you spent, you look fabulous."

Annie has given me a wardrobe that works for me every day. My
clothes fit and are professional, flattering, and stylish. I am
ready for any occasion. No more fashion emergencies! Annie
makes building a wardrobe fun. She teaches you what your
mother didn’t about how to invest in clothing for the long
haul and how to be fashionable and still be yourself.
Annie and I have worked together for over 15 years. Because
of her, I have a wardrobe—not just a collection of stuff – and
a really distinctive style. My look is ladylike, but always
with an edge. I like being ahead of the curve in fashion. For instance,
skirts and volume are currently hot, but we have been doing that
for years. I have some amazing pieces. Annie guides
me in communicating who I am through what I wear. People
notice. This has been a tremendous asset in business.

During my 25-year career in television news, I worked with
hundreds of stylists, wardrobe consultants, makeup artists, hairdressers,
and image doctors. I thought I’d seen it all, but when I sought
to update my look for the next phase of my life, I found
that Annie Brumbaugh offered a total package of
expertise like no other. From the closet makeover to the
perfect eyeglass frames to the fashion emergency, Annie’s knowledge,
experience, and resources apply to every aspect of appearance. My
biggest endorsement: I’ve given “The Gift of Annie” to
friends, relatives, and colleagues. People who had their first consultation
almost ten years ago tell me they’re still enjoying some of
the fashion finds – and the education - from that initial experience.

You have done me incredible good! It’s a whole
new world: glasses, footwear, outerwear, underwear, “connective
tissue,” jewelry, purses. I have never thought comprehensively
about any of it before. I love everything we bought this
fall and have really worn everything (a new concept!) I
still have much to learn about coordinating things creatively
and about palette. I can’t wait for next season.

Undertaking a new role as senior vice president
of an international company, I required an upgraded wardrobe. Annie
made it happen painlessly with her outstanding taste, knowledge,
and shopping acumen. After we worked together, people began
to make new assumptions about my seniority. I’m a big
guy and I travel a lot, so I have really appreciated the comfort
of great fitting, high quality clothes. I’d say we hit it
out of the ballpark!

When Oprah invited me to go on a cruise
in the Caribbean to celebrate Maya Angelou’s 70th birthday,
I was honored and thrilled. Then panic set in. I
didn’t have a tuxedo or really any of the attire called
for, and I didn’t know how to shop. I have
been known to break out in a cold sweat over buying a T-shirt. Annie
walked me through an experience that changed my life. Not
only did we get fabulous and creative wardrobe (including the
tuxedo) within my budget, but also I got the skills and confidence
to work with it. Now I am fearless. And on that wonderful
cruise, in the company of major celebrities, I looked GOOD.

We met Annie on a cold, rainy Saturday. The band wasn't
so sure about the idea of a "fashion make-over"; it didn't
seem very rock 'n roll to any of us. Further complicating
the process was our financial situation, which limited the excursion
to thrift stores. Despite the obstacles presented, Annie
tackled the project with incredible energy and expertise. She was
able to find a common thread (excuse the pun) among the band members. By
the end of the day, we were all enjoying ourselves and had discovered
our style: kind of vintage preppy gone wrong. And the chicks
dig it.
